About Old Town

Park City, Utah has been crowned the best-preserved mining town in the West. After the discovery of silver in 1868, this small mining camp grew into a town of miners, gamblers, merchants, saloon keepers and ladies of the evening. After the city's 1884 incorporation, mining flourished until the 1930s and gradually declined into the 1960s. Park City Mountain Resort saved the city from almost ghost town status. Subdivisions in the Old Town area include the newly built Silver Star which offers condos/townhomes and cottages that are ski-in/ski-out to Park City Mountain Resort. Other developments include the new Sky Lodge (fractional) on Main Street, The Lowell (Park City's newest ski-in/ski-out development), Hotel Park City, and Parkwood Place (high end single family homes located right next to the Town Lift).
